The bottom line
If I were looking for a more compact and portable device for direct lung vaping, the VINCI E120 would definitely be on my list. It offers all of the convenience of a pod vape, but also the power and battery life of a vape mod. The high wattage output and 4500mAh battery are the best specs that you can get from a pod mod right now – the competition doesn’t even come close.
In addition to the specs, it uses VOOPOO’s PnP X coils, so the flavor and performance are excellent. These coils have been used in many of VOOPOO’s previous tanks and devices, so it looks like they’re here to stay. This means that they should be easy to find at your local brick-and-mortar store, as well as online, which is good if you plan on using this device for a long time.
While I have a few minor issues with the VINCI E120, none of them are enough to stop me from calling the VINCI E120 one of the best pod mods on the market right now. It’s expensive at ~$55 USD though, so you’ll be paying vape mod kit prices if you want to get your hands on one of these.

Product Overview
It’s hard being a direct-lung vaper these days. The market has been taken over by MTL pod devices and disposables, and there really aren’t many good DL devices being released. Sure, you could stick with your tried-and-true mod/tank combo, but even that gets boring after a while. So what is a direct-lung vaper to do?
If you’re looking for an alternative to mods and tanks, there are a few good options out there. INNOKIN’s Coolfire PZPulse is one of them. VAPORESSO’s ARMOUR GS and LUXE XR MAX are also excellent. The only issue with these devices is battery life; when vaping at high wattages, you won’t get anywhere near the longevity that you would get with a good dual battery mod.
This is where VOOPOO’s new VINCI E120 comes in. It’s a pod mod with a massive 4500mAh battery – a huge step up in capacity from other DL pod mods. It also has a maximum output wattage of 120W, rivaling and even exceeding the wattage output of many single battery mods.
On top of the impressive specs, the VINCI E120 has a massive 2.4-inch TFT high-resolution display. This screen displays a watch face as a screen saver, and new watch faces are unlocked after reaching new puff milestones.

Design & Build Quality
For a pod vape, and even for a pod mod, the VINCI E120 is massive. At 115mm tall, 46.6mm wide, and 23.6mm thick, it’s comparable in size to the Aegis Legend 3 – a dual battery mod. But although it’s large, it’s not as heavy as you might think. Surprisingly, the VINCI E120 is only 154g. For comparison, the Aegis Legend 3 with batteries installed weighs 260g.
The reason I’m comparing the VINCI E120 to a vape mod is because that’s precisely what it’s trying to replace. Instead of using a mod and tank for big hits and clouds, VOOPOO wants you to use the VINCI E120 instead.
From a purely design standpoint, the VINCI E120 looks like a good alternative. It rivals the size of dual battery mods, but it’s nowhere near as heavy, which is awesome when you consider that it packs a built-in 4500mAh battery – a capacity equivalent to 1 and a half good 18650 batteries.
But enough of the size and weights, let’s talk looks. The VINCI E120 is simple and clean, which seems to be VOOPOO’s design ethos with its products.
The shape of the device is a tall rectangle with rounded corners and edges. The sides are flat, but the rounding makes it comfortable to hold. It still feels boxy but I don’t hate the feel in my hand.
There are seven colors for the VINCI E120, most of which are neutral, but there are a few colorful options like Snow Blue, Star Purple, and Rose Red (which is really more of a pink).

One side of the device has an airflow control knob, and it’s huge compared to what I’m used to seeing on a pod device. This is a direct-lung device, after all, so the large airflow hole makes sense. The operation of the airflow control is smooth and effortless, which makes adjustments easy.
The other side of the device has a secondary airflow hole that is not adjustable. Below this are two adjustment buttons, a physical locking switch, and a Type-C charging port.
The adjustment buttons are just firm enough to avoid accidental presses while still being responsive and easy to use when desired. The locking switch is similarly firm enough that I haven’t had it accidentally change in my pocket, but it works with a nice ‘click’ to lock and unlock the device.
The firing button on the front of the device is round and nicely positioned for either thumb or index firing. The button says “Everest Lab” on it, which is a recurring theme with this device, although I’m not sure what it means or what it is a reference to.
The 2.44-inch TFT display is the centerpiece of the VINCI E120. It’s high-resolution, full-color, and sits underneath a scratch-resistant glass panel. Even after weeks of use, the glass looks brand-new and virtually untouched.
Pod & Coils
The VINCI E120 uses a brand new pod, called the VINCI PnP X Cartridge, but it’s compatible with VOOPOO’s many PnP X coils. These are the same coils that are used by some of VOOPOO’s tanks and devices, like the UFORCE-X and UFORCE-X Nano tanks, and Argus Pro 2.
There are actually two VINCI PnP X Cartridges available: one for direct-lung vaping and one for mouth-to-lung vaping. The VINCI E120 only includes the DTL cartridge in the box though, and the MTL cartridge is sold separately.
Along with the DTL PnP X Cartridge, the VINCI E120 comes with a PnP X 0.15Ω coil and a PnP X 0.3Ω coil. Both coils are for DL vaping, so they have rather high recommended wattage ranges. The full list of PnP X coils and their recommended wattages is:
DL Coils
- 0.15Ω (60-80W)
- 0.20Ω (40-60W)
- 0.30Ω (32-40W)
- 0.45Ω (25-32W)
MTL Coils
- 0.60Ω (18-23W)
- 0.80Ω (12-16W)
- 1.0Ω (10-13W)
Overall, there’s a good choice of coil resistances available and I like the resistances included with the device.

Both the DTL PnP X Cartridge (included with the VINCI E120) and the MTL PnP X Cartridge can hold up to 5ml of ejuice. The pod is filled through a port on the side of the pod, which can be accessed without removing it from the device.
Most of the pod contents remain visible when inserted into the VINCI E120, so you don’t have to remove it to check how much ejuice is left in the pod. There is a dark tint on the pod which can make it more difficult to see, though.
Features
If you, as a vaping brand, want to compete in the direct-lung segment of the market, your device is going to need two things: power and battery life. If you’re a direct-lung vaper, you’ll know that you need some decent wattage to get a warm but airy draw. You’ll also know that all that power takes a toll on battery life, so you need good battery capacity as well.
The VINCI E120 checks both of these boxes handsomely. On the power front, it can fire at up to 120W, which is the highest that I can remember seeing from a pod device. For battery, it has a 4500mAh capacity which, again, is the largest that I can remember seeing on a pod device.
A caveat of the 120W maximum wattage output is that, at least at this moment, it’s not possible to use the VINCI E120 at 120W. The 0.15Ω coil is the lowest resistance coil available but it can only be set at a maximum wattage of 80W.
Aside from the mammoth specs, the display is equally as impressive. It’s a 2.44” TFT display that is bright, high resolution, and attractive.
The UI is nice, with a picture of a mountain (presumably Everest from the many mentions on the device) as the background. This UI has all of the essential information that you could want like battery life, lock status, time, coil resistance, puff count, wattage, and puff time.

A unique feature of the VINCI E120 is its customizable watch-face screensavers. A few seconds after you release the fire button, the display changes to a clock. There are eighteen different clock faces that can be set. However, there’s a catch.
Only two watch faces come unlocked out of the box. In order to unlock the other clock faces, you have to reach certain puff count milestones: 100, 500, 1000, etc… After 1000 puffs, a new clock face is unlocked every 1000 puffs thereafter until you hit 13000 puffs. At this point, the next and final clock face is unlocked at 18000 puffs.
The watch faces are really cool and it’s clear that VOOPOO put a lot of time into designing them. However, having to vape for thousands of puffs just to get a watch face that you like might incentivize people to vape more than they need to, so I’m not sure if it’s the way to go. I get that VOOPOO wants there to be some sense of interactivity with the device, but is this really the way to do it?
The physical lock switch is nice to have, but I’ve found an issue with it. When locked, the device will not fire, and the adjustment buttons will not change the wattage; that’s as expected. However, you can still access the menu if you press both adjustment buttons, and in the menu you can change the watch face and time. While I haven’t had it happen, it’s possible to make changes with the VINCI E120 in your pocket, which isn’t ideal.
Battery & Charging

With its 4500mAh battery, the VINCI E120 lasts a long time, even when firing at high wattages. The included coils function best at 32-40W and 60-80W, and this device has no trouble lasting three or four days before needing a charge.
I easily got 600 puffs out of a charge when using the 0.3Ω coil at 35-40W, and about half that with the 0.15Ω coil.
Charging times are lengthy, even with the 2A charging speed. The 4500mAh battery takes over two hours to reach a full charge, but it supports pass-through charging and can be used while it charges.
Performance

Although the VINCI E120 can be used for MTL vaping with the MTL pod cartridge, I didn’t have one on hand for this review, so I won’t be able to speak to its MTL performance.
For this performance section, I’ll be evaluating the VINCI E120 based on its performance with the included DL cartridge and included PnP X coils. All of the ejuices that I used are 70% VG and in 6mg/ml freebase nicotine strength.
Both coils are squarely for RDL and DL vaping, with no MTL possible, even if you close the airflow. I like how straightforward it is to use this device, and it offers a surprisingly similar experience to using a mod and tank, especially with the 0.15Ω coil.
The high wattage output and mass amount of airflow are big reasons why, but it’s also the feel of the device itself. It feels like I’m holding a mod, which makes the DL experience feel more true.
Circling back to the high wattage output, the 0.15Ω coil is my preferred coil because it works best at 60-80W. I liked maxing it out and vaping at 80W for the densest and warmest hits because, sadly, it’s restricted to an 80W maximum.
It’s weird and disappointing that VOOPOO gave the VINCI E120 a maximum wattage output of 120W but did not offer a coil that can actually be used at this wattage.
The 0.3Ω coil is best from 35-40W, and I get a very airy draw with the airflow wide open, down to a RDL draw with the airflow closed all the way. This coil is better for RDL vaping than the 0.15Ω coil and is every bit as flavorful.
Verdict
